The 56th New York Film Festival kicked off this weekend with Yorgos Lanthimos’s rollicking period piece The Favourite, featuring sold-out screenings across all of our theaters on Friday night, followed by a night to remember at our after-party. Saturday was a historic day, as we presented Orson Welles’s long-anticipated The Other Side of the Wind in 35mm, followed by a special panel featuring Martin Scorsese, Peter Bogdanovich, Frank Marshall, and more. Later that day, Alex Ross Perry and Elisabeth Moss returned to the festival with their gripping punk drama Her Smell. And on Sunday, we welcomed Paul Dano, Zoe Kazan, Carey Mulligan, and Jake Gyllenhaal with their carefully wrought drama Wildlife, which will open at the Film Society of Lincoln Center on October 19.
