Before presenting his Palme d’Or–winning new film The Square to New York Film Festival audiences, Ruben Östlund participated in a press conference with NYFF programmer and FSLC Associate Director of Programming Florence Almozini. In the wide-ranging conversation, the director discusses modern masculinity, cinema as a social experiment, the acting brilliance of Terry Notary, and more. The Square will open at the Film Society of Lincoln Center on October 27, courtesy of Magnolia Pictures.
