Ahead of the screenings of Things to Come at the 54th New York Film Festival, director Mia Hansen-Løve and actor Isabelle Huppert sat down with NYFF Director Kent Jones to discuss the film. Things to Come follows Nathalie, a sixty-something philosophy professor who is forced to reexamine her life after an unexpected divorce. In the video above, Hansen-Løve describes her idea of the film. “I think it’s about that paradox and the fact that you can both accept life in its cruelty and irreversibility, and at the same time still enjoy it and have hope and wait for something or somebody.”
