What Just Happened at the Film Society of Lincoln Center

Film Society’s Marian Masone sat down with director Joseph Mantegna and Mailer’s daughter, Danielle Mailer to discuss the film’s look at the controversial author, filmmaker, politician and personality. The screening proved to be a family affair as attending the screening were…roll call please…. Mailer’s 1st wife, Beatrice Mailer; his 2nd wife (and Danielle’s mother), Adele Mailer; and Mailer’s 4th wife, Beverly Mailer.

Film Comment Selects – The Opening Weekend

The Film Comment editors handpicked gems veered wildly from the Jason Eisener’s homage to 80s trash cinema, HOBO WITH A SHOTGUN to Werner Herzog’s 3-D exploration of the CAVE OF FORGOTTEN DREAMS. In between, film fans caught the cinema of Isild Le Besco, some Extreme Asian grisly movie fun courtesy of Kim Jee-Woon's I SAW THE DEVIL and a night of Warhol and the Velvet Underground. And that was just the opening round….
