This free outdoor screening takes place at Governors Island’s newly restored Parade Ground. Ferries will run from the Battery Maritime in Lower Manhattan, located at 10 South Street. We recommend taking the 6:30, 7, or 7:30pm ferry in order to arrive before the film begins. Food vendors and a beer garden will be open to attendees starting at 7pm.

Who ya gonna call? Three parapsychologists (Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, and Harold Ramis) are fired from their cushy Columbia University gigs and forced into the private sector. After a paranormal encounter at the New York Public Library, they set up shop as spectral exterminators in an old fire house and begin chasing spooks, specters, and ghosts all over the city with unlicensed nuclear accelerators strapped to their backs. Joined by a blue-collar skeptic (Ernie Hudson), they soon find themselves also battling pugnacious bureaucrats, ancient gods, and giant marshmallows all while trying to prevent the end of the world. Ivan Reitman’s comedy-horror masterpiece—also starring Sigourney Weaver, Annie Potts, and Rick Moranis—was a megahit upon release, as was Ray Parker Jr.s’ theme song, and they remain just as addictive today.

A young woman recounts a story to a group of friends who listen with rapt attention, but the tale sounds very familiar… A masterful and clever work by one of the world’s premier shorts filmmakers, who’s also a New York local.
