What is NYFF59?
Presented by Film at Lincoln Center, the New York Film Festival–now in its 59th edition–highlights the best in world cinema. An annual bellwether of the state of cinema that has shaped film culture since 1963, the festival continues a long-standing tradition of introducing audiences to bold and remarkable works from celebrated filmmakers as well as fresh new talent. 

When will NYFF59 take place?
NYFF59 will take place September 24 – October 10, 2021.

Where will NYFF59 take place?
NYFF59 will take place at Film at Lincoln Center’s Walter Reade Theater and Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center, Alice Tully Hall, and in the FLC Virtual Cinema, with more venues to be announced.

What films will screen at NYFF59?
NYFF59 will feature Joel Coen’s The Tragedy of Macbeth, Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog, Wes Anderson’s The French Dispatch, an Amos Vogel centenary celebration, and much more. We’ll be making more announcements in the coming weeks. Sign up for our newsletter to be the first to get updates.

How do I get early access to tickets?
There are two ways to get early access to tickets:

1) Become a member: Film at Lincoln Center Members at the Contributor level and above receive early access to NYFF tickets and more benefits year-around. Save 15% on Contributor, Friend, Angel and New Wave membership levels when you join online by August 9 using promo code LOVEFILM! (Valid only for new memberships.)

2) Purchase a pass: NYFF59 Passes provide early access to in-person screenings at the festival and are on sale now with Early Bird discounts through July 30! Reserve yours now.

When will General Public tickets go on sale?
General Public tickets will go on sale on Tuesday, September 7 at noon ET. Check back for details on ticket prices and more.

What health and safety measures are being taken during the festival?
Under the guidance of government and health officials, Film at Lincoln Center continues to monitor, evaluate, and update our policies as circumstances change. COVID-related health protocols will be in place at our theaters, which may include proof of vaccination before entry. Please refer to our health protocols webpage for the most up-to-date information.

Where are virtual screenings available?
Select programming will be available in the FLC Virtual Cinema. Virtual access is available in the U.S. or U.S. territories (Puerto Rico, U.S. Virgin Islands, Guam, American Samoa, Northern Mariana Islands). Information on virtual programming will be announced prior to the General Public on-sale on September 7.

Feature films are by invitation only. Short film submissions to NYFF59 opened in the spring and are now closed. Check back in spring 2022 for updates on how to submit to NYFF60.
