Theater Closure Updates

In consultation with Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts (LCPA), Film at Lincoln Center has closed the Walter Reade Theater and the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center and suspended all screenings and events. This is in an effort to mitigate the spread of COVID-19 virus, and to prioritize the health of our communities. Our theaters will be closed until such time as we get approval from city, state, and federal elected officials to re-open.

The 49th New Directors/New Films will be postponed and the 46th Chaplin Award Gala honoring Spike Lee will be rescheduled for later this fall. Additional information regarding new dates for both events will be communicated in the coming weeks. Current updates regarding all first-run and repertory programming can be found below, with more updates forthcoming.

We regret any inconvenience caused by these changes. If you have tickets for an upcoming screening or event, you will be contacted directly via email within 3-5 business days. We appreciate your patience as we all work together to ensure the health and safety of the New York community.

This is a rapidly evolving situation, and Film at Lincoln Center is continuing to monitor the situation closely in consultation with our LCPA colleagues as well as government and health officials. We remain committed to the safety and best interests of our staff and audience members, and we will continue to share updates in the days and weeks ahead.
