The 45th Annual Dance on Camera Festival came to another successful close this February. As the world’s longest-running dance film festival, it has provided an accessible global platform that explores the art of dance through the art of film since its inception. This year, the festival opened with the world premiere of David Barba and James Pellerito’s Anatomy of a Male Ballet Dancer and closed with the North-American premiere of Marie-Hélène Rebois’s In the Steps of Trisha Brown. Overall, the lineup included a diverse array of narrative, short, and documentary films, as well as several panels and special events, with appearances made by many of the filmmakers and talent, including Jonathan Demme (Justin Timberlake + The Tennessee Kids), postmodern dance icon David Gordon, and Susan Glatzer (Alive & Kicking).
