On this week’s podcast, we’re sharing an extended discussion that followed the North American premiere of The Other Munch, an engrossing documentary directed by Emil and Joachim Trier and co-starring acclaimed Norwegian writer Karl Ove Knausgaard.
The film follows Knausgaard as he is invited to guest-curate an exhibition of paintings by Edvard Munch at Oslo’s Munch Museum. Co-director Joachim Trier appears onscreen alongside Knausgaard as they visit several key locations from the celebrated painter’s life, searching for insights into his imagination and vision as they discuss his vastly influential work.
Karl Ove Knausgaard and Emil & Joachim Trier joined Director of Programming Dennis Lim on stage to discuss the film. Listen below or click here to subscribe to The Close-Up on iTunes.
