When six promising scientists disappear while on assignment, their kidnapping sparks a manhunt that crisscrosses Europe. Mysterious online videos, mind bending puzzles, and clues that point to a dark conspiracy of vast proportions threaten to ensnare the team of investigators charged with unraveling the mystery. This isn’t the plot of the most recent Hollywood blockbuster it is the set up for ALT_MINDS a fast paced immersive experience that casts YOU, the audience, in the role of the investigator. In an experience the spans the web, television, and live events, ALT_MINDS asks it’s player/viewers to take part in the action, playing an integral part in the expanding narrative.
The product of award winning game designers Lexis Numérique, ALT_MINDS is at the forefront of multiplatform storytelling (or transmedia) marrying the tenants of filmmaking, game design, and live theater to create worlds where the boundaries between reality and fiction are purposefully blurred. As a group, the French community of transmedia creators has emerged as leaders in this new and experimental form of storytelling. Film Society of Lincoln Center is thrilled to invite you to attend a special presentation on ALT_MINDS and the future of the project as well as the state of the art of transmedia as part of Rendez-Vous our annual celebration of French Cinema.
Made possible with support from the Cultural Services of the French Embassy.
