In person: director Thom FItzgerald and star Ryan Doucette!
Dotty (Oscar-winner Brenda Fricker, My Left Foot) and Stella (Oscar-winner Olympia Dukakis, Moonstruck) are an elderly couple living on the coastline of Maine. When Dotty takes a bad fall, her granddaughter Molly wonders if Grandma's “friend” Stella can truly care for her anymore. Unwilling to be separated by a nursing home, Stella and Dot climb into their pickup truck and hit the road to Nova Scotia, where they plan to get legally married. They pick up a wayward young hitchhiker as a disguise, whose own troubles sidetrack them on the way. The road is long and rough, and Stella begins to wonder if she really can take care of Dotty in their old age. After 31 years, can they keep their family together?
