Set in the lower echelons of 1860s Paris, Therese Raquin (Elizabeth Olsen) is trapped in a loveless marriage to her sickly cousin (Tom Felton) by her domineering aunt (Jessica Lange). After she meets her husband’s alluring friend (Oscar Isaac), she embarks on an illicit affair that leads to tragic consequences.
