Join the writers of Gravity, Life of Pi, and Open Water in a conversation about the heroes adrift in each of their films. Moderated by WGA East President Michael Winship. Presented in Collaboration with the Writers Guild of America, East.

The writers of Gravity, Life of Pi and Open Water, who have untethered their protagonists, discuss casting their heroes afloat and the search for solid ground, oxygen, safety, clarity and the bigger picture. We’ll explore the opportunities, challenges and metaphors that distinguish these films with panelists Jonás Cuarón (Gravity), David Magee (Life of Pi) and Chris Kentis (Open Water).
Moderated by Michael Winship, president of the Writers Guild of America, East, AFL-CIO. Mr.Winship is the Emmy Award-winning senior writer of the public television series, Moyers & Company and its website, BillMoyers.com. A senior writing fellow at the public policy and advocacy group Demos, he is a veteran public television writer and producer whose other credits include Bill Moyers Journal, NOVA, American Experience, Nature, Smithsonian World, and Television, as well as many arts, documentary and public affairs specials.
