Q&A with Leon Le
Saigon of the 1980s never looked more glorious than it does as the backdrop for this mesmerizing musical melodrama, the award-winning feature debut by Leon Le. When ruthless debt-collector Thunderbolt demands an overdue payment from a Cai Luong folk opera company, male star Linh Phung is immediately drawn to him. As their paths continue to cross, initial misconceptions melt away, and Thunderbolt reveals that he too was raised in the Cai Luong tradition.
