The power of music's direct connection to emotions is made bare by the 78-year-old master documentarian Eduardo Coutinho, who asks 18 ordinary people from Rio de Janeiro to sing a song that marked their lives forever and talk about the story behind it. The stories that emerge are mostly about love and heartbreak, and the emotions spilled out trigger tears, laughter and even profound philosophical reflection. The characters interviewed are larger than life—delightful, funny and touching.

Ele pede para 18 pessoas comuns do Rio de Janeiro cantarem uma canção que tenha marcado suas vidas para sempre, e contarem a história por trás da mesma. As histórias que surgem são, principalmente, sobre amor e desilusão, e as emoções desencadeadas geram lágrimas, risos e até mesmo profundas reflexões filosóficas. Os personagens entrevistados são encantadores, divertidos e comoventes.
