In this compelling character study infused with dark humor, Meika Seri stars as a strong-willed lady of the night trying to survive her line of work and dysfunctional family in 1970s Osaka. Told through a series of vignettes, it features outlandish counterculture cameos by dancer/political activist Genshu Hanayagi (of Eat the Kimono notoriety) and poet Sakumi Hagiwara. With inventive camerawork and mood-specific chromatic changes, it’s a standout by Roman Porno master director Noboru Tanaka.
