NYFF How-To Guide

Welcome to the official how-to guide for the New York Film Festival! Make your festival experience the best it can be by following our tips.

Getting Tickets

Helpful tips for purchasing tickets:

  • Get an NYFF Pass or become an FLC Member for the earliest access to tickets.
  • Explore the pre-sale guide and see all ticket pricing here.
  • There is a maximum of two tickets per screening, per household.
  • Once you add a ticket to your cart, a 60-minute timer will begin to checkout. You can check out all tickets in a single transaction.
  • Tickets are available to purchase online or in-person at the Alice Tully Hall box office, open Monday–Saturday, 10am to 6pm; Sunday, 12pm to 6pm.
    • Seats will be determined by the best available seat at the time of the purchase. If you have a specific seating preference, tickets must be purchased in person at the Alice Tully Hall box office. Seats in Alice Tully Hall are reserved, but all other Film at Lincoln Center venues are general admission.
  • We strongly suggest you log into your account prior to your pre-sale date to confirm your account details.
  • The most direct way to access tickets during is at purchase.filmlinc.org. When purchasing tickets, do not refresh or hit the back button until the transaction has completed.
  • During on-sale windows, you will be placed in a virtual waiting room. No matter how early you log on, everyone will be randomized at the start of the pre-sale/on-sale. Do not refresh your browser, or you may lose your spot.
  • $15 Rush tickets to select screenings will be available throughout NYFF, and will be announced the previous day next to showtimes and on film pages, and daily in the NYFF newsletter. Tickets are subject to availability at the corresponding venue’s box office starting one hour before showtime, first-come, first-served.
  • There are no refunds or exchanges on ticket purchases.
    • To donate ticket(s) you are unable to use, please email [email protected] or visit the Alice Tully Hall box office in person.
    • You can also buy/sell tickets using Discord by adhering to all rules.

Planning Your Schedule

  • Plan your schedule by visiting the lineup page and exploring the Schedule, Films, or Grid tabs, launching in late August.
  • We recommend using Festiful to plan your schedule, launching in late August.
    • Browse the lineup, heart your selections to add to your shortlist, then plan a schedule that works best for you.
  • All venues at Lincoln Center are on the same block, so feel free to pack your schedule with back-to-back screenings as long as you have at least 15–20 minutes to get to the next screening.
  • Explore screenings with Q&As and/or intros beginning in early September.
    • In-person appearances will be added as confirmed.
    • If a film has a Q&A, that will occur after the screening and is included in the price of a ticket.
  • Not sure what to see? Catch a film currently without distribution! Check film pages and if there’s no distributor listed at the end of the longer film description, NYFF may be your only chance to experience the film.
  • Screenings may sell out. Be sure to have additional screening picks ready to select. Sort our official NYFF Letterboxd list by popularity, launching in August, or check out which films on Festiful have the most hearts to learn about the most-anticipated premieres.

Is a screening you want to attend sold out?

  • See all screenings that are standby-only beginning in September. On the day of the screening or event, a standby line will form at the venue’s box office prior to showtime. Tickets may become available to the standby line on a first-come, first-served basis, limit one per customer, with priority access to Express Pass holders.
  • We will release small batches of tickets leading up to all screenings, including sold-out screenings.
    • The fastest way to see what’s available is on the lineup page.
    • We will also announce these added tickets and screenings on Discord, in FLC Member newsletters, NYFF newsletters, on Reddit, X, and Instagram.
  • A select number of partial view tickets may be available for each Alice Tully Hall screening, available only by request at the Alice Tully Hall box office.
  • To buy or sell tickets in our community, use Reddit or Discord and please adhere to all rules.
