This year, Jones will talk with French filmmaker Claire Denis, whose completely unexpected science-fiction film High Life, starring Robert Pattinson and Juliette Binoche, is sure to be one of the most talked-about selections of the festival. Denis has long been a mainstay of NYFF, and this conversation should give insight into her approach to the art form.

FLC announces James Gray’s Paper Tiger as the Opening Night selection of the 64th New York Film Festival, presented in partnership with Rolex. The film will make its North American premiere in a gala debut at Alice Tully Hall on Friday, September 25, with Gray and members of the cast and crew in attendance.
