20×24 Polaroid portraits: 13TH director Ava DuVernay and musician Common. Photos by Myrna Suarez.

During the New York Film Festival and throughout the year at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center, you have likely seen the extraordinary photos of filmmakers and movie stars decorating our walls—Martin Scorsese, George Clooney, Tilda Swinton, Cate Blanchett, Clint Eastwood, Kristen Stewart… the list goes on and on. The photographs in this remarkable collection were taken with the legendary Polaroid 20×24, the large-format instant camera that debuted in 1976.

Though Polaroid went bankrupt in 2008, renowned photographer Elsa Dorfman embarked on a project with Daniel H. Stern and John Reuter to carry on the large-format business. In 2011, one of the cameras found a home at the Film Society of Lincoln Center, where it captures the amazing talent that comes through our halls.

The 20×24 Polaroid film is no longer being produced, and there is a finite supply left in the world. Before it disappears, you can have your very own portrait—of yourself or a loved one—shot by Myrna Suarez, the amazing photographer who shoots all of the NYFF talent.

The Film Society is proud to offer the opportunity to have one (1) photo taken by this remarkable camera, subject to scheduling and on a first-come, first-served basis—for a tax-deductible gift of $5,000.

This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have one of these amazing photos—before they’re truly gone. Please email the Member Desk at [email protected] or reach out by phone at (212) 875-5620 to secure your slot today!
