On this week’s podcast, we’re sharing two highlights from last fall’s complete retrospective of Paul Verhoeven, one of the world’s most fearless and provocative filmmakers. We celebrated him on the occasion of the release of Elle, which went on to win the Golden Globes for Best Foreign-Language Film and Best Actress for Isabelle Huppert’s brilliant performance. 

Two of the most popular screenings from our Total Verhoeven series were the uncut version of his American breakthrough film RoboCop and the subversive cult classic Starship Troopers. Verhoeven joined us for Q&As at both screenings, and he was accompanied by Starship Troopers’ lead actor Casper Van Dien at the latter.
