Taiwan’s Kevin Ko makes his first feature in China with this unexpectedly moving romcom dressed up as a ribald sex comedy, part of a new trend in Chinese films exploring the battle of the sexes. The film, produced by Leste Chen (Battle of Memories), gets dazzling and unconventional performances out of Dong Zijian (Mountains May Depart) as geek Xioyang, and Elane Zhong (Youth) as sex goddess Guan Xin. When rumors start after the two students are caught in a compromising situation, Guan Xin makes it her mission to teach virgin Xioyang the secrets of seduction so that he can find a real girlfriend.
