This year at the New York Film Festival, hundreds of artists and activists will band together to launch The Federation. Formed by Laurie Anderson, Laura Michalchyshyn, and Tanya Selvaratnam in response to the increased xenophobia and closing of physical borders, The Federation is a coalition of individuals and organizations committed to keeping cultural borders open and recognizing how essential artistic experiences are to fostering compassion, critical thinking, and joy.
