We 💜 Agnès
57th New York Film Festival
September 27 - October 13, 2019
Join Agnès Varda’s daughter and frequent collaborator Rosalie Varda and other special guests for an in-depth conversation that will pay tribute to Varda before her final film, Varda by Agnès, has its New York premiere in NYFF’s Main Slate.
When Agnès Varda died earlier this year at age 90, the world lost one of its most inspirational cinematic radicals. Her final film, the documentary Varda by Agnès, sheds light on her experiences as a director, photographer, and installation artist, bringing personal insight into the method she called “cinécriture” (“cinematic writing”). Join her daughter and frequent collaborator Rosalie Varda and other special guests–including Rajendra Roy, Caryn James, and Madeline Whittle–for an in-depth conversation that will pay tribute to Varda before the film has its New York premiere in NYFF’s Main Slate. Moderated by Eugene Hernandez.
Join Film at Lincoln Center for the most comprehensive survey to date of the late filmmaker’s vast canon, opening December 20 through January 9 and presented in partnership with Janus Films. See more details here and a teaser below.
