No Other Land Filmmakers Issue Urgent Statement

Film at Lincoln Center was honored to present Basel Adra, Hamdan Ballal, Yuval Abraham, and Rachel Szor’s No Other Land in the Main Slate of the 62nd New York Film Festival.
Preceding his screening on the evening of Tuesday, October 1, Abraham introduced the film and explained in urgent detail why the filmmaking collective would no longer be able to participate in the Q&A and subsequent free Talk scheduled for this upcoming weekend. Abraham’s introduction can be viewed below.
Additionally, the No Other Land filmmakers that attended NYFF62 offered the following statement:
“Thank you for coming to watch this film, which we worked on together for five years, as a collective of Palestinians and Israelis. We flew to New York City this week so we could be with you tonight, but in light of recent events, we have to fly back home to be with our families, who are in danger and need us. In the face of senseless violence, led by leaders with no political vision and nothing to offer us other than brutality, we as young activists offer this film to the world, which is both a document of a war crime happening now in the occupied West Bank, and a plea for a different future, one without occupation and oppression, one which is based on empathy, respect for international law, and true security and equality between Palestinians and Israelis. It has never been more urgent. Thank you.” –Basel Adra, Yuval Abraham, and Rachel Szor

No Other Land will open at Film at Lincoln Center on November 1 for an exclusive one-week run. All NYFF62 documentaries are sponsored by HBO®.
