The Film Society of Lincoln Center honored the Academy Award–winning actor Morgan Freeman at the 43rd Annual Chaplin Award Gala this past Monday. The evening celebrated the remarkable talent of an actor who has portrayed some of the most memorable characters committed to film over the past 30 years. The event featured notable guest presenters such as Helen Mirren, Robert De Niro, Danny Glover, Matthew Broderick, and Jerry Schatzberg, video presentations by Tim Robbins and Christopher Nolan, and film clips spanning Freeman’s career, culminating in the presentation of the Chaplin Award.
