One of the year’s most acclaimed and provocative films, Bertrand Bonello’s Nocturama begins its official theatrical run here at the Film Society this Friday. For this week’s podcast, we discussed the director’s provocative new film, as well as its influences.

August 18-24 we’re running a series entitled Deeper into Nocturama, featuring films hand-picked by Bertrand Bonello to provide cinematic context for his new film. Selections include David Lynch’s Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me, Robert Bresson’s The Devil, Probably, John Carpenter’s Assault on Precinct 13, and David Cronenberg’s The Brood

To talk about Nocturama and the accompanying series, our Editorial Director Michael Koresky joined programmer Dan Sullivan and Film Comment Digital Producer Violet Lucca. After their conversation, you’ll hear a Q&A with Bertrand Bonello after our screening of Nocturama in Rendez-Vous With French Cinema earlier this year.
