Alice Rohrwacher (The Wonders, Corpo Celeste) talks about the first movie she remembers seeing in theaters, Look Who’s Talking, and the importance of protecting theaters as a space for shared experiences in our new interview series, NYFF Soft Focus. Rohwarcher is our 2016 Filmmaker in Residence, a program co-created by Jaeger-LeCoultre.

NYFF Soft Focus is created by filmmakers Jeff Reichert and Farihah Zaman. The interviews were shot using a 1986 Jupiter-9 85mm, a vintage Russian lens known for its “swirly bokeh,” which gives the videos their distinctive look.
