On a new episode of the Film at Lincoln Center podcast, we’re excited to present a wide-ranging conversation with Virginie Efira. In the discussion, the actress breaks down the evolution of her craft and her approach to portraying profoundly complicated, endlessly compelling characters. Efira next stars in Alice Winocour’s Revoir Paris, opening in our theaters on June 23. Tickets are on sale now.

Efira has attracted a dedicated following in recent years with her rigorous, singularly sensitive performances, including star-making turns in NYFF selections Benedetta (NYFF59) and Sibyl (NYFF57) and Rendez-Vous favorite Madeleine Collins (2022). At the 2023 Rendez-Vous with French Cinema, she took center stage with lead roles in Revoir Paris (the festival’s Opening Night selection) and Rebecca Zlotowski’s Other People’s Children.

Efira spoke with FLC Assistant Programmer Maddie Whittle during this year’s Rendez-Vous with French Cinema. Watch and listen below.
