Introduced by Norman Jewison</span> and Robert Osborne on May 26!

Smack in the middle of the Cold War, Jewison hit it big with… a madcap Cold War comedy, garnering his first Best Picture Oscar nomination in the process. When a Soviet submarine runs aground in a sleepy New England town, the residents respond with varying degrees of hysteria and bemusement to these ordinary Russkies in the flesh. Alan Arkin gives a hilarious turn as Lieutenant Rozanov, just trying to keep things together, with the rest of the cast rounded out by comedy veterans Carl Reiner and Jonathan Winters, as well as Eva Marie Saint and John Phillip Law.
