The Bronx-born actor, director, producer and activist will be honored at the 41st annual Chaplin Award Gala on Monday, April 28. The Film Society’s annual Gala began in 1972, honoring Charlie Chaplin, and has since feted many of the industry's most notable talents.

The 64th Berlin International Film Festival climaxed tonight with the event's awards. China/Hong Kong feature Black Coal, Thin Ice won the Berlinale's top Golden Bear for Best Feature Film award. Richard Linklater won Best Director.
