Before taking a vacation from Earth on a faraway star, God goes on a cross-country quest to find the ideal substitute to assume his enormous responsibilities.
God (Antônio Fagundes), who has grown fatigued with humans’ perpetual mistakes and terrible choices, determines to take a vacation on a star far, far away from Earth. Before he does, however, he recruits fisherman Taoca (Wagner Moura) as his guide, leading him on a cross-country quest to find the ideal substitute to take over his enormous responsibilities.
