1) Was so impressed by Clemency directed by Chinonye Chukwu when @FilmLinc showed it at @NDNF (2019). Her new film Till premiering at @TheNYFF tells the wrenching story of the Emmett Till MS lynching from his mother’s POV. Danielle Deadwyler is powerfully moving as Till’s mom.
Beautifully shot with the vast landscape of Sudan, The Dam is a film both mythical and political that tests viewer's imagination. This is exactly the type of films for which I go to film festivals! I really liked the documentary touch and brick making scenes.
Just watched “Till” at #NYFF60 and I think everyone in there cried at least 4 times throughout the piece. An emotional rollercoaster and upheaval shown mainly through the eyes of Emmet Till’s mother Mamie Till -Mobley, powerfully portrayed by Danielle Deadwyler. Required Veiwing!
