Adam Wakeling’s eye-opening film follows British scientist Mike Hands, who has labored for 25 years to find a solution to slash-and-burn agriculture in equatorial rainforests. Shot over 4 years in Honduras and the UK, Up in Smoke parallels the farmers' struggles with Mike Hands' attempts to get political  backing.

Screening followed by a Q&A with the director, Mike Hands and Rohit Malpani, from the OXFAM GROW campaign, and then a reception in the Furman Gallery.

Showing in the Roy and Frieda Furman Gallery!
