We were thrilled to welcome director Catherine Breillat and actress Léa Drucker to NYFF61 for the U.S. premiere of Last Summer. In the Main Slate selection, Breillat proves that she is not through toying with viewers’ comfort levels with her incendiary new drama, starring Drucker as Anne, a middle-aged lawyer who inexplicably finds herself sexually drawn to her husband’s estranged 17-year-old son Théo. A Sideshow/Janus Films release.

In a conversation moderated by NYFF Artistic Director Dennis Lim, Breillat and Drucker discuss transgressive desire, boundaries, and self-denial. Breillat also took part in a NYFF61 Deep Focus Talk about her career, moderated by writer Sarah Nicole Prickett. All NYFF61 Talks are sponsored by HBO.
