We were thrilled to welcome lead actor Koji Yakusho and co-writer/producer Takuma Takasaki to NYFF61 for the premiere of their Main Slate selection Perfect Days. Yakusho and Takasaki sat down with NYFF Advisor Violeta Bava to discuss working with Wim Wenders, choosing the right soundtrack, and learning to clean toilets.

As in his finest movies, Wim Wenders (Paris, Texas) here locates the magnificence in the everyday, casting the incomparable Koji Yakusho as the taciturn, good-natured Hirayama, who goes about his solitary hours working as a public toilet cleaner in Tokyo. A NEON release.

Enjoy this conversation with Yakusho and Takasaki below, and subscribe here for more filmmaker conversations.
