Institutional & Government Support

Film at Lincoln Center’s unparalleled year-round programming could not be possible without the generous support we receive from foundations and government agencies. Taken together, these partners symbolize the broad base of support that enables Film at Lincoln Center to produce world renowned festivals and thoughtfully curated series that highlight emerging talents. Assistance may come in the form of general operating support, a vital component that sustains Film at Lincoln Center’s day-to-day operations, currently evidenced from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).

Targeted program support is another critical avenue of philanthropy on which Film at Lincoln Center depends. Recently, a transformative grant from the William Randolph Hearst Foundation helped launch Film at Lincoln Center’s education initiative, which bolsters visual literacy learning by providing hands on teaching and film production assistance for public elementary school students in New York City public schools. Foundations and government agencies receive recognition on Film at Lincoln Center materials, when appropriate.
