Institutional & Government Support
The Film Society of Lincoln Center’s unparalleled year-round programming could not be possible without the generous support we receive from foundations and government agencies. Taken together, these partners symbolize the broad base of support that enables the Film Society to produce world renowned festivals and thoughtfully curated series that highlight emerging talents. Assistance may come in the form of general operating support, a vital component that sustains the Film Society’s day-to-day operations, currently evidenced from the National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and the New York State Council on the Arts (NYSCA).
Targeted program support is another critical avenue of philanthropy on which the Film Society depends. Recently, a transformative grant from the William Randolph Hearst Foundation helped launch the Film Society’s education initiative, which bolsters visual literacy learning by providing hands on teaching and film production assistance for public elementary school students in New York City public schools. Foundations and government agencies receive recognition on Film Society materials, when appropriate.
