FSLC and Subway Cinema Announce Full Lineup for the 15th New York Asian Film Festival, June 22 – July 9

New York, NY (May 31, 2016) – The Film Society of Lincoln Center and Subway Cinema announced today the complete lineup for the 15th New York Asian Film Festival (NYAFF), which will take place from June 22 to July 5 at the Film Society and July 6 to 9 at the SVA Theatre (333 West 23rd Street). North America’s leading festival of popular Asian cinema will showcase 51 feature films, including one World Premiere, one International Premiere, 16 North American premieres, two U.S. Premieres, and 14 films making their New York City debuts. Featuring in-person appearances by more than 30 international filmmakers and celebrity guests from Hong Kong, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan, and Southeast Asia. Read More

FSLC unveils the 54th New York Film Festival poster, designed by filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul

NEW YORK, NY (May 19, 2016) – The Film Society of Lincoln Center unveiled today the poster for the 54th New York Film Festival (September 30 – October 16), designed by acclaimed filmmaker Apichatpong Weerasethakul. NYFF posters are looked upon as a yearly artistic “signature” for the film festival, and Weerasethakul joins a stellar lineup of artists whose work has been commissioned for the festival, including Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, David Hockney, Julian Schnabel, Cindy Sherman, and last year’s artist, Laurie Anderson. Cannes, FR (May 12, 2016) – The Film Society of Lincoln Center and Jaeger-LeCoultre announce the selection of award-winning writer and director Alice Rohrwacher (The Wonders, NYFF 2014 and Corpo Celeste, NYFF 2011) as their 2016 Filmmaker in Residence, the fourth annual initiative and partnership between the two organizations. Past recipients include directors Athina Rachel Tsangari (Chevalier), Lisandro Alonso (Jauja), and Andrea Arnold (Red Road, Fish Tank), whose residency project American Honey will premiere in competition at this year’s Cannes Film Festival. New York, May 10, 2016 – The Human Rights Watch Film Festival will be presented June 10-19 with 18 topical and provocative feature films and three special interactive programs that grapple with the challenges of defending human rights around the world today. Now in its 27th edition, the festival is co-presented by the Film Society of Lincoln Center and IFC Center.
