26th Columbia University Film Festival May 3-9

Columbia University School of the Arts Film Program and The Film Society of Lincoln Center have announced they will co-present the 26th Annual Columbia University Film Festival (CUFF), a week-long program of screenings, dramatic readings and special events in New York. The celebration will continue with events to be announced for June in Los Angeles. This marks the second year that the festival is co-presented by the Film Society. Adam Davidson to receive prestigious Andrew Sarris Award. “From Development to Deal: A Conversation on First Features” panel to include Rebecca Thomas and Tanya Hamilton, moderated by Tom Kalin. FSLC celebrates Burt Lancaster’s 100th Birthday with a 7-Day Salute

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today a weeklong celebration titled Man of Steel: Burt Lancaster at 100. Accomplished athlete, card-carrying member of the ACLU and creative producer, Burt Lancaster was one of the greatest actors in the history of American cinema. FSLC announces lineup for OPEN ROADS: NEW ITALIAN CINEMA, June 6-12

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the lineup for Open Roads: New Italian Cinema, which will take place from June 6-12, 2013. This year’s lineup includes impressive debuts, a return of favorite filmmakers as well as several award winners. Highlights include opening night selection of Paolo Virzi's comedic love story starring Italian songstress Thony in EVERY BLESSED DAY, Venice Film Festival winner and Daniele Cipri's debut feature IT WAS THE SON, and the latest from master filmmaker Marco Bellochio, DORMANT BEAUTY. FSLC presents special FIlm Comment Selects preview: ULRICH SEIDL’S PARADISE TRILOGY

The Film Society of Lincoln Center has announced a special Film Comment Selects presentation of controversial Austrian filmmaker Ulrich Seidl’s Paradise Trilogy on Friday and Saturday, April 26 & 27. The two-night event will include Friday screenings of PARADISE: LOVE (2012) and PARADISE: FAITH (2012), and will conclude with a Saturday screening of PARADISE: HOPE (2013) with Seidl attending and participating in a conversation about the trilogy. FSLC goes green with upcoming environmental film series: GREEN SCREENS, May 31-June 5

The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the lineup for Green Screens (May 31-June 5), a six-day film series of environmental documentaries. The Film Society of Lincoln Center announced today the presenter line up for the upcoming 40th Chaplin Award honoring Academy Award-winner Barbra Streisand, on the evening of April 22nd at Avery Fisher Hall, Lincoln Center. FSLC presents special midnight screening of THE SHINING to coincide with Rodney Ascher’s Room 237

The Film Society of Lincoln Center will present a special Midnight screening at the Elinor Bunin Munroe Film Center (144 West 65th Street) of Stanley Kubrick’s horror classic THE SHINING on Friday, March 29 following the opening of Rodney Ascher’s documentary ROOM 237. ROOM 237 explores the opinions and commentary of cinephiles and dedicated fans of the Kubrick’s masterpiece who each believe they have found clues embedded within the film that tell a story just as compelling as the film itself. Ascher and producer Tim Kirk will attend and participate in post-screening Q&As following the 6:30PM show on Friday, March 29 and the 1:30PM and 6:30PM shows on Saturday, March 30. Read More

The Film Society of Lincoln Center will kick off its daily radio program today, Film Society’s Daily Buzz with Eugene Hernandez, from the 2013 South By Southwest Film Festival (SXSW). The daily radio show will be recorded at the historic Stateside Theater and airing daily at 9PM CST on KUT (90.5 FM) and also available on kut.org.
